Bayer, established in the Philippines in 1962, has its offices and production facilities in Canlubang Industrial Estate in Calamba City, Laguna. Bayer fulfills its mission of helping achieve lasting improvement in the quality of life of the Filipinos through its three core businesses: Bayer HealthCare, Bayer Crop Science, and Bayer Material Science.

Bayer Philippines, Inc. handles the Bayer HealthCare and Bayer Material Science businesses in the Philippines. Bayer Crop Science, Inc. is managing the Bayer Crop Science business independently.

Bayer continues to be the leader in animal health care. With its wide range of anti-infective, parasiticide, nutritional and biological products for livestock, poultry, and pets, Bayer Animal Health Division is among the world's biggest animal health care suppliers.

Among its best known global products are: broad-spectrum anti-infective Baytril; coccidiocide Baycox; metabolic stimulant Coforta/Catosal; antiparasiticides Asuntol, Neguvon and Sebacil; vitamin mineral pre-mix Baymix; nutritionals Pecutrin and Latibon; and biosecurity products Farm Fluid S and Virkon S.

Strategic Location and Sophisticated Facilities

From its first year of operation in 1978 at Pasig to the present Canlubang site that started 1999, Bayer Animal Health stood firm to continuously improve its services at an even higher level since Production, Sales and Marketing are close at hand. Aside from its expertise in the manufacture of feed premixes, the plant also refills/repacks animal nutrition, livestock, companion animal and hygiene products manufactured by its mother company. In 1990 the plant opened its doors to contract manufacturing of premixes to other multinational companies starting with Novartis Phils., Inc. (Ciba-Geigy Phils then) followed by Eli-Lilly (Phils.,) Inc. in 1994 and BASF Phils., Inc. last 1998. From thereon, numerous transactions such as repacking of pharmaceutical products are being undertaken on this multi-purpose facility. The efficiency in materials management and order processing is thru a computerized software called MAPICS.

Quality monitoring starts from the receipt of raw materials until the production of the final product which is always accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA) as a proof of the strict quality control measures employed by the plant.

Periodic assessments from local regulations as well as technical experts from our head office calibrate and verify our production and quality control equipment to match up with both local and international standards.

To affirm our commitment to give the best value to the products and services we offer, Bayer Animal Health Plant is proud to be the first premix plant in the Philippines to be ISO 9002 Certified in October 1995 while the company-wide ISO 9002 Certificate was received in December 1998. Since December 2005, AH Plant adopted the new version of ISO and was awarded with ISO9001:2000 and cGMP Certification issued by SGS Phils., Inc. Aside from our dedication to quality, Bayer is committed to Responsible Care, a worldwide initiative by the chemical industry towards environmental protection, safety, and health. Responsible Care makes it the duty of each individual Bayer employee to use his or her expertise for the benefit of humanity and the environment. As a result, Animal Health Plant is awarded by the Safety Organization of the Philippines with a Perfect Safety Record from 2003 up to present.
